Department of Mechatronics

Welcome!

The Department of Mechatronics has placed a special emphasis on expanding laboratories over the past few years. Students can benefit from the highly developed equipment and machines that make the robotic laboratory one of the most modern in Europe. The industrial robots, mobile robots and additional mechatronic components for automation engineering are worth a total of over EUR 1.5 million and were mainly provided by industry.

The Department of Mechatronics collaborates with other UAS institutes via the mechatronics platform. At the international level, the institute cooperates with international research institutions via the mechatronics network.

R&D focuses

  • Industrial robotics: security in collaborative operation and gripping technology
  • Mobile and humanoid robots
  • Intelligent mechatronic products, production planning, digital factory, process optimization
  • Manipulating techniques and automation engineering
  • Life cycle design: holistic approach to the life cycle of products in order to meet environmental requirements
