Total Quality Management

Modern management methods are playing an increasingly important role in post-secondary education. The University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien sees quality management as a path to business excellence, and has thus decided to implement the most extensive quality system available: Total Quality Management (TQM).

In this system, all of the employees feel responsible for the quality of the institution's performance. Everyone understands that the interplay between departments, which is focused on satisfying the needs of the customers, is an essential factor in this. This understanding leads to the promotion of a continuous process of advancement at UAS Technikum Wien.

The quality management system at UAS Technikum Wien is based on Evaluation Regulation 5/2004, EvalVO of the Austrian FH Council. It is built upon an intensive dialog between all of the institution's stakeholders (students, instructors, degree program directors, institute directors) in order to ensure the constant improvement in the quality of the instruction and the student learning experience.

Goal

The goal is to establish Total Quality Management as the management philosophy throughout the company and to further develop this system as needed for use at an institution of higher learning.

Quality management manual

UAS Technikum Wien's quality management system is documented in a quality management manual that has been published on the Campus Information System (CIS).
