The video game industry is not only one of the world’s biggest growth industries, but it now generates higher sales than Hollywood’s film industry. A few Austrian companies have managed to develop established game franchises within the development and publishing scene in the digital gaming world.
The Game Engineering and Simulation Technology master’s degree program gives students the know-how needed to create various genres of electronic games. The program deals with everything from development to design all the way to production. A project that stretches over several semesters ensures that all relevant areas are covered – including artificial intelligence, multiplayer networks and the game business.
After completing the degree program, graduates have comprehensive knowledge of the technical, business and legal aspects related to the development of computer games and video games. They are not only ready to work in the creative career field of game development and design, but also to take on the business-related responsibilities of game production. They can also work in the exciting fields of computer simulation and visualization. The program offers a balanced mix of industrial development and science, which also gives students the know-how needed to work in research.
