Multimedia and Software Engineering
Modern software development requires a wide range of skills. These days, users demand above all optimal usability. Therefore, an understanding of the methods of user-centered design is becoming increasingly important along with technical programming skills and management know-how. The two semester Multimedia and Software Engineering master’s degree program places particular emphasis on organizational management and the development and implementation of complex software projects. Important aspects of this full-time master’s degree program are software usability, quality assurance, computer graphics and methods for working with video and audio data.
Technology produces creative dimensions
These days, software solutions are often developed globally. Therefore, the skills needed to manage international teams, document requirements and communication with a team of developers are naturally covered in the program.
Psychological subject areas such as overcoming communication barriers are also extremely important. Students also have the possibility to study abroad and familiarize themselves with the mentality and working methods of offshore development teams.
Business and legal knowledge, such as the legal aspects of IT, project controlling and risk management as well as the handling of software evolution, round off this unique education. The efficient planning and organization of the
curriculum, the opportunity to work on real projects in small groups and close contact to all of the professors add to the exceptional quality of the program.
