An exciting medical congress and a ceremonial opening of the faculty

On November 6, 2018, the LISAvienna Conference took place at the Technikum, followed by the opening of the Life Science Engineering Faculty.

In cooperation with the consulting company en.co.tec and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, LISAvienna hosted a conference on the regulatory requirements for the market approval of medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics in Europe on the day of the opening of the new Life Science Engineering Faculty of the University of Applied Sciences.

250 participants took this opportunity to listen to interesting lectures and participate in workshops. There was also an opportunity for individual discussions with four European Notified Bodies (BSI, mdc, TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD) as well as to learn from coordination centers for clinical studies and experts for approval and quality management. With 85 industry representatives from the medical sector, the organizers considered the event to be a great success.

The congress was followed by the opening of the Life Science Engineering Faculty. 145 participants stayed after the medical congress to witness the opening.

Just like the LISA event, the opening of the faculty was a great success. Faculty Director Dr. Anton Sabo said here:

“The fact that this congress took place at the Technikum Wien once again shows that well-qualified academics are in demand and that graduates from universities of applied sciences in particular are needed by the industry. I am very happy about the successful opening.”
