Erasmus+ Award – UASTW among the best three in Higher Education

The International Credit Mobility Project 2016 of UAS Technikum Wien which was successfully completed in 2018 was awarded as one of the three best Erasmus+ projects of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Austria.

The Erasmus+ Award is presented annually by the Austrian Exchange Service (OeAD) to the best Erasmus projects in several categories nationwide. Among more than one hundred submitted projects in the category of higher education, UASTW was particularly convincing in the areas of sustainability, commitment, as well as quality of its mobility project with international partners within the framework of the International Credit Mobility (ICM).

In 2016, UASTW received funding for joint projects with HEIs in Argentina, China, Mongolia and Russia. This enabled a total of 22 students to spend study-related time abroad, 15 employees to conduct further training and 11 teachers to gain international teaching experience.

Highlights of this project cycle include the graduation of the double degree programme with the Russian National Research University Higher School of Economics in the Austrian Embassy in Moscow, the development of a double degree in cooperation with the Argentine Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, the presentation of joint research results of the UASTW and China Three Gorges University at the BauZ Congress and the implementation of real-life projects such as the urban development in Ulan Bator in Mongolia.

Rector Fritz Schmöllebeck and Agnes Kriz, Head of the International Office, accepted the award on behalf of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien on December 4, 2018, and were delighted about the appreciation of the work of recent years which will be carried forward through further projects in the future.
