International insights and perspectives: Study trip to Mexico

Since 2013, the Faculty of Industrial Engineering has been organizing a study trip overseas during the semester break.

This year, 23 students from the master's degree programs International Business and Engineering and Innovation and Technology Management participated in this study trip. January 30 to February 9, subsidiaries of Austrian companies (e.g. Senoplast, Doppelmayr, Collini) and local and global organizations (e.g. German Centre) were visited.

There were also exciting fireside chats with, for example, the managing director of Plasser & Theurer Mexico, the reinsurer Munich Re and the foreign trade delegate of the WKO.

Despite COVID-19, we had a packed visiting program. Thanks to the sponsoring by the UAS Technikum Wien (International Office and Management) and the companies ACAM and Kraus & Naimer, the travel price for the students could be reduced significantly.

Once again, the study trip allowed students to meet exciting people abroad and broaden their horizons. The last study trip to Mexico (2019) has meanwhile developed into a university cooperation with the Tec de Monterrey.
