Adventure Technology: Travel to Lumina City with ALMAH2!

24 July, 2025
As part of Tech Days, 250 elementary school children visited the UAS Technikum Wien.
As part of the ALMAH2 project sponsored by LEA (Let’s Empower Austria), around 250 children in grades 3 and 4 embarked on an exciting fictional journey to the city of Lumina from May 19 to 23, 2025. As part of Tech Days, the school classes were invited to the FH Technikum Wien, where they were able to conduct research, experiment, and master tricky challenges. While trying to save Lumina, the children learned about technology and environmental protection in a playful way:
In five interactive workshops, they built mini versions of waste sorting plants, wind turbines, mobile robots, and solar-powered Ferris wheels. Electrical, mechatronic, and physical principles were taught in an age-appropriate and fun way with a focus on sustainability and environmental awareness.
The dedicated ALMAH2 team — Cecilia Perroni, Amr Eltabakh, Stephanie Kump, Sylvia Lingo, Vanessa Ehmann, Nina Czedron, and Geraldine Metzger – not only passed on valuable STEM knowledge to the children, but also supported teachers in further integrating technical content into school lessons. A project that shows how much fun learning can be – especially when it involves building, discovering, and thinking for yourself.
