Double Degree Program Successfully Launched: Information Systems Management Meets Data Science

UAS Technikum Wien and the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) in Argentina have reached another milestone in their long-standing partnership: Since May 2023, a new double degree program has been added to the existing cooperation, linking the Master’s program in Business Informatics at UAS Technikum Wien with the Master’s program in Data Science at ITBA.

The double degree program enables business informatics students to specialize in data science as part of their master’s degree. The program thus combines two key areas of digital transformation: While information systems management operates at the interface between IT and business and transfers technological innovations into operational processes, data science provides the methods for deriving well-founded, data-based decisions from large amounts of data – a decisive success factor in an increasingly data-driven world.

In the summer semester of 2025, four students from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien will participate in the double degree program for the first time. They will complete their final semester in Buenos Aires, where they will write their master’s theses under the close supervision of ITBA faculty members.

A highlight was the visit of Peter Seifter, program director of the Master’s program in Information Systems Management, to ITBA in May 2025. The aim of the visit was to engage in personal exchange with local partners and to further develop the program in terms of content and strategy.
