EBC*L Flag Raised for the First Time: Presentation of Certificates to Graduates

On November 29, 2024, UAS Technikum Wien hosted the ceremony for the EBC*L certificates for the summer semester of 2024. A total of 22 students passed their exams and received certificates at levels C, A and B. In addition, seven graduates were awarded the title of EBC*L Certified Manager.

The head of the EBC*L Academy, Daniel F. Leutgeb, gave a speech in which he described the multi-year path to implementing the flag project: “After several years of preparation, the EBC*L flag was raised on one of the three flagpoles in front of the university of applied sciences this August. Finally, the long-awaited flag was flying in the wind. The joy was immense – but short-lived. The EBC*L flag fell victim to the mega storm in mid-September. The award ceremony and subsequent flag parade planned for the fall could not be realized. It seemed as if the flag was cursed! But with the help of the Marketing & Communications department, a solution was found.”

After the original flag was damaged by a storm in September, a new, sturdier flag was made in November. During the ceremony, student Lorian Bosiok carried the flag to the mast, where it was raised with the help of a facilities staff member. This first flag-raising ceremony marks the beginning of a new tradition at future certificate ceremonies.
