ERP Future 2024 at UAS Technikum Wien

09 January, 2025

Focus on future-oriented ERP operating models: Christian Nebenführ and Sylvia Geyer attended as representatives of UAS Technikum Wien.

On 14 November, the ERP Future 2024 event, held at the premises of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, provided a first-class platform for the exchange of ideas and information on the topic of ‘ERP operating models in the future’. More than 130 participants and 14 exhibitors took the opportunity to present innovative solutions and concepts. With Christian Nebenführ (Head of the ERP Consulting course) and Sylvia Geyer (Rector), two experts from UAS Technikum Wien were actively involved in the event. Geyer opened the event with introductory words, together with Felix Piazolo (University of Innsbruck).

Keynotes and expert knowledge at first hand

One of the highlights of the conference was the opening keynote by Christian Nebenführ. In his speech titled ‘Hybrid operating models as an answer to future challenges’, he highlighted the opportunities and challenges of hybrid approaches in the ERP landscape. Sylvia Geyer was heavily involved in the organisation and contributed to the successful implementation of the event. In addition to the lectures, the platform was also used to discuss future developments and current research results.

Christian Nebenführ is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. At the Technikum Wien Academy, he leads two ERP courses: the in-house course for Eviden Austria and the ‘ERP Consultant’ course that started in November as part of the waff programme ‘Jobs PLUS Ausbildung’.

Networking and scientific awards

The presentation of the Diploma Thesis Awards was a special part of the event. The University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien supported the award for outstanding theses as a partner, including topics such as the integration of no-code/low-code approaches and generative AI. Networking was not neglected either: numerous discussions during the breaks and at the subsequent get-together strengthened the exchange between science and practice. The next ERP Future will take place on 13 November 2025 at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. The UAS Technikum Wien will continue to be a driving force in the design of modern ERP systems in the future.
