Focus on Innovative Hydrogen Storage: Visit to Hydrosolid

21 August, 2025

Representatives from UAS Technikum Wien gained practical insights into how HYDROSOLID intends to use innovative adsorption storage to supply hydrogen safely and efficiently.

On July 30, 2025, Gerhard Fritscher and Christoph Steindl from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien (both lecturers/researchers in the competence field of renewable energy technologies) had the exciting opportunity to visit the company HYDROSOLID – Hydrogen Technology. This innovative company specializes in the development of hydrogen storage systems. Their technology is based on adsorption storage, a forward-looking method that enables efficient and safe storage of hydrogen.

Laboratory site in Herzogenburg and hydrogen plant in St. Pölten visited

During the visit, the two representatives from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien were given a tour of the new and innovative office and laboratory premises in the San Biotech Park in Herzogenburg. Another real highlight was the insight into the completed hydrogen plant (power-to-power) at the SPORTZENTRUM Niederösterreich in St. Pölten. This plant impressively demonstrates how hydrogen technology can be put into practice.

A big thank you to the HYDROSOLID team, especially Lukas Renz and Lisa Ehrenreich, for the inspiring exchange and the exciting insights into their work. Gerhard Fritscher and Christoph Steindl look forward to working together on a more sustainable future.
