14 November, 2024
The start-up zone14, part of the Entrepreneurship Initiative at UAS Technikum Wien, has entered into a partnership with SK Rapid Wien.
The recently concluded cooperation between zone14 and SK Rapid Wien will make it possible to sustainably optimize and enrich the training and match preparation of the renowned Viennese soccer club with innovative, AI-supported video analysis.
UAS Technikum Wien promotes the growth and talent acquisition of start-ups
As a member of the Entrepreneurship Initiative, zone14 is supported by UAS Technikum Wien in the areas of talent acquisition and company growth. This initiative aims to provide valuable support to young companies and build a bridge between academic education and industry.
“We are extremely pleased to have gained SK Rapid as a partner,” explains Lukas Grömer, Managing Director of zone14. “My very first jersey was from Rapid. So it’s also something special for me personally. The club is one of the figureheads of Austrian soccer beyond the country’s borders. With our technology, we can help the club and young players gain deeper insights that enable targeted improvements.”
AI and state-of-the-art technology for more effective match analysis
The collaboration will see zone14 equip SK Rapid’s training facilities in Hütteldorf and Vienna’s second district with state-of-the-art camera systems. In combination with the AI technology developed by zone14, these will provide detailed match analysis and enable the coaching staff to access crucial match information in real time.
Steffen Hofmann, Managing Director of SK Rapid, is delighted with the partnership: “I am very pleased that zone14 is equipping our training grounds in Hütteldorf and in Vienna’s second district with innovative camera systems. This is an important step and helps us to make our video analysis even more efficient. On behalf of SK Rapid, I would therefore like to thank you for the cooperation and am already looking forward to the first use of this technology.”
An important part of the partnership is also the use of the new zone14 TWO camera, which records the pitch in the highest resolution. In addition to the benefits for SK Rapid, other clubs that take out a live subscription with zone14 will also have access to this innovative technology.
Use of artificial intelligence as a driver of innovation in soccer
zone14’s technology offers trainers and analysts a user-friendly platform that enables them to incorporate performance-relevant data into training planning in a precise and targeted manner. The use of artificial intelligence ensures that work with this data can be made more time-efficient and effective.
For UAS Technikum Wien and its partners, supporting start-ups such as zone14 is a valuable opportunity to connect students with innovative companies and enrich the economy with practical, technological solutions.
