Research project ILSE in Bergamo

17 October, 2024

A train-the-trainer workshop and international exchange with universities from Italy, Finland and Portugal took place.

The ILSE (International Life Science Education) research project of UAS Technikum Wien, funded by the City of Vienna, was in Bergamo, Italy, in mid-September. Together with the universities from Finland (Lapland University of Applied Sciences), Portugal (Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro Douro & Centro Hospitalar De Trás-Os-Montes E Alto Douro, E.P.E.) and Italy (Università degli studi di Bergamo), a joint train-the-trainer workshop was held there. The theme was ‘Human safety’ and a total of 7 different topics were covered during the week. These presentations focussed on didactic and technical measures in teaching at the respective universities with the aim of creating synergies.

Measures were taken to maintain the concept of the Train the Trainer workshop and the didactic, technical methods are to be used in future courses. Discussions have been held on establishing international partners in teaching and courses have already been defined in which this would make sense. This exchange should work both ways, so that lectures from the partner universities take place at the UASTW and that the UASTW lecturers teach at their universities. Furthermore, possibilities were discussed as to how student groups from the individual universities could be linked together.
