Three Days Full of Career Opportunities: A Look Back at Career Start 2025

14 October, 2025

Talented tech students and leading employers gathered at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. Career Start demonstrated the wide range of career opportunities available in the tech sector.

From October 7 to 9, 2025, UAS Technikum Wien once again hosted Career Start, Austria’s largest purely technical career fair. For three days, everything revolved around career opportunities, networking, and future prospects in the technical field.

88 companies – around 1,000 visitors

A total of 88 companies presented themselves to students, graduates, and interested parties with a wide range of entry-level and career opportunities. Around 1,000 visitors took the opportunity to get in touch with potential employers directly, ask questions, and find out about trends in various industries.

In addition to professional exchanges, the Coffeebike, a lunch menu in the cafeteria, and the services offered by Trabitsch Catering ensured a pleasant atmosphere and the physical well-being of exhibitors and guests.

Stronger presence in the life sciences sector

Particularly pleasing: the life sciences sector was represented by 11 companies this year – an increase compared to last year, when there were 9 life sciences companies among the 119 exhibitors. This shows that interest in qualified Technikum graduates is also growing steadily in this sector.

Meeting place for students and companies

Career Start offers students and graduates of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien the opportunity to meet potential employers in person, make contacts, and learn about career paths firsthand. At the same time, companies benefit from the opportunity to recruit highly qualified young talent and strengthen their visibility within the university.

Application photos and competition

Photographer Felix Büchele was present at Career Start on all three days with a professional photo studio in the A-Aula. Students were able to have application photos taken there free of charge and then use the photos as they wished – an offer that was very well received.

Three lucky winners were delighted to win the Career Start competition – they have already been notified. The process: Participating companies received raffle tickets that they could give to students for particularly good interviews. There were high-quality prizes to be won, including an iPad Air (11″), an Apple Watch SE, a PlayStation 5 Slim, a Samsung gaming monitor, a DJI drone, and a DJI action cam.
