31 October, 2024

Exchange to promote innovation and collaboration: representatives of UAS Technikum Wien visited the renowned Loughborough University to further expand their partnership in sports engineering and interdisciplinary research.

After over ten years of partnership between Loughborough University and UAS Technikum Wien, Stefan Litzenberger, Head of BSc Sports Engineering and Ergonomics and MSc Sports Technology,  and Agnes Kriz, Head of International Office, embarked on a first in-person visit, looking into deepening these connections, sharing insights, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.

Their visit started out at the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, and discussed possibilities for exchanges, tracking of student engagement as well as the new energy programme. A tour through the buildings of the school rounded of the morning. In the afternoon, while the International Office reached out to the School of Business at the Sir Richard Morris Building to look into opportunities for collaboration, Stefan Litzenberger explored advancements in sports engineering. This afternoon highlighted innovative approaches in the intersection of healthcare and sports technology. The day concluded with a dinner, providing a great opportunity for networking and informal discussions.

Visits to the School of Aeronautical and Ping Performance Research Center

The agenda continued the next day with a morning at the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical, and Materials Engineering (AACME) for Agnes Kriz, before heading to lunch with the central Student Services team to discuss ongoing initiatives. Stefan Litzenberger viewed the Ping Performance Research Center and Sports Engineering Labs. These meetings fostered collaboration and innovation across various engineering disciplines at both higher education institutions, highlighting the dynamic environment of academia and industry partnerships.
