Category description

This category recognizes courses that actively integrate socially relevant topics and current challenges into teaching. The focus is on courses that combine technical content with social values and practical relevance, for example through internationalization, diversity, sustainable development, digitalization or cooperation with business and research. The aim is to prepare students for the demands of a changing world and to show them the relevance of what they learn for practice and society. The criteria by which the jury will judge the submissions in this category are as follows: • The course ensures that the acquired knowledge can be applied in practice. • The content and approaches contribute to addressing current societal challenges in the spirit of responsible science. • The course promotes economic thinking and actions that are aligned with the needs of society. • The course encourages a critical engagement beyond subject-specific knowledge, addressing societal, ethical, ecological, or economic aspects and fostering reflective action.

Reasons for submission

e.g. Are social or ecological consequences of economic decisions reflected upon? Are current societal developments discussed or interdisciplinary approaches integrated? Which methods or discussion formats do you use to encourage students to critically engage with social, ethical, or environmental issues?

e.g. Do students develop their own ideas or business models? Do they work creatively on problem-solving? Is social responsibility also addressed as part of this?

Please upload screenshots of your evaluation results below. If you do not currently have any, 3-5 student endorsements can be uploaded in exceptional cases.
