The ‘Automation and Robotics’ field of research is located within the Department of Industrial Engineering. Automation and robotics are core areas that are important to the development of efficient, resource-saving and versatile production systems. User-friendly and environmentally friendly while simultaneously powerful and adaptive – intelligent – mechatronic systems are required. The driving force is the digitalization of systems, machines, tools, workpieces, products and product components. Innovative automation and robotics solutions combine mechanical engineering expertise with highly developed sensor concepts and increasingly powerful algorithms.
