Third Country
The following documents are required from you for a successful application:
1. Requirement for Bachelor Access
Even if you have already completed any recognized academic degree, we as a university are obliged to record proof of the general university entrance qualification for educational statistical reasons.
For example:
- Austrian school-leaving examination certificate (Reife- bzw. Maturazeugnis)
- Vocational school-leaving examination certificate (Berufsreifeprüfungszeugnis)
- Certificate of eligibility for admission to a university (Studienberechtigungszeugnis)
- Foreign school certificate (proof of general university entrance qualification (general qualification for entrance to a university, supplementary examinations, certifications, etc)
2. Requirement for Master Access
Master degree programs build on a completed Bachelor degree program and allow students to specialize or focus on topics in more detail or to expand their existing expertise.
Prerequisites include a Bachelor degree from a UAS in a relevant subject matter or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign post-secondary educational institution (at least 180 ECTS credits).
For example:
- Certificate of Bachelor degree or Diploma, incl. transcript of records, or
- Certificate of award incl. transcript of records, or
- Notification of the award of the academic degree, incl. transcript of records, or
- Diploma Supplement incl. certificate of Bachelor degree or Diploma, or
- Legalized recognized document of an academic degree incl. transcript of records of a foreign educational institution
In individual cases, the head of the degree program decides on the fulfillment of the admission requirements.
If the document or certificate is not available at the present time, you will have the opportunity to submit the document by November 15th at the latest.
3. Language Skills Level B2
To attend a German-language degree program, language skills at level B2 or higher in both German and English (see “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages“) , starting from the winter term 2026/27are required. The required language skills must correspond to level B2 of the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages” in all four skill areas (listening, reading, speaking, writing) and must be presented by means of a certificate or school leaving certificate at the time of application, but not later than May 31.
Exception: For English-language degree programs, ONLY proof of B2-level in English is required.
Note: Applicants with school education or university degree completed in the required languages need no proof of language skills (e.g., graduates of HTL, AHS, or bachelor’s degree programs in Austria, etc.). In order to be able to check this, it is necessary that the transcript of records is attached to your school leaving certificate or university degree.
In exceptional cases, you have the possibility to submit the certificate(s) until the application deadline of the respective degree program.
Language skills can also be tested in an interview by the head of degree program or a person nominated by the head of degree program!
4. Proof of Identity
- Scan of passport or
- ID card (Front and back side) or
- a valid Austrian residence document
Driving licence, proof of citizenship, etc. are not accepted!
If you have a foreign passport/identity card* and a residence in Austria, please also upload the valid Austrian residence document.
5. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Latest CV (incl. a photo)
6. Letter of Motivation
- The desired Master program may require a letter of motivation during the admission process.
For applicants from third countries, a deposit of € 250,00 will be charged and an increased tuition fee is required.
Applicants from third countries are those persons who are citizens of a third country and have fulfilled the relevant admission requirements for studying at the UAS Technikum Wien in a third country.
