A Look Back on Pride Month at Technikum

Pride Month has long been a fixture on the calendar at UAS Technikum Wien. This year, the activities kicked off with the Pride “Café Olé” for staff and students, organized by Marketing & Communications and Equality Management. Following a welcome address by Rector Sylvia Geyer, attendees enjoyed coffee, juices, snacks, and colorful Pride cupcakes while mingling and getting to know one another. A small raffle for Pride starter kits for the Rainbow Parade further added to the festive atmosphere.

Pride Biz Research Award – Submission Deadline Open

To raise awareness of these issues and strengthen social acceptance—particularly in the fields of business, the workplace, and society. As the founder of the Pride Biz Research Award, the university actively promotes academic engagement with LGBTIQ+ topics in Austria.

Eligible submissions include dissertations, bachelor’s and master’s theses, academic publications, and research projects. Requirement: The work must address LGBTIQ+ issues in the context of business, the workplace, or society. The submission deadline is still open: July 8, 2026. Full details on how to submit can be found directly on the Pride Biz website.

Rainbow Parade 2026

On June 13, UAS Technikum Wien was once again represented by a group of staff and students marching under the Technikum banner alongside the queer@hochschulen float at the Rainbow Parade along Vienna’s Ringstraße. For some, Pride is an annual must-attend event; for others, it was their first time participating. Together, they all stood as a symbol of mutual respect and diversity.
