Alumni Advisory Board Meeting: Internationalization As A Strategic Priority

22 October, 2026

At the Alumni Advisory Board meeting, specific measures to strengthen international networking with the alumni community were prioritized. Plans include new partnerships, joint projects, and a more intensive transfer of expertise across continents.

On October 20, 2026, the Alumni Advisory Board of UAS Technikum Wien met to focus on the topic of “International.” The meeting centered entirely on the question of how the university can further strengthen its international networking in collaboration with its alumni community.

To this end, UAS Technikum Wien maintains regular communication with the advisory board of the Alumni Community at UAS Technikum Wien (19,000 graduates). The goal of these meetings is to deepen and expand collaboration with companies, institutions, and graduates both nationally and internationally. The current “International” focus thus ties directly into the ongoing activities that are being helped shape by the Advisory Board.

Innovation trips featuring visits to successful graduates

These include, in particular, innovation trips to various continents—with and to successful graduates (reports on trips to Singapore and India) and their innovative fields of work. These initiatives foster intercontinental exchanges of expertise as well as joint projects, which in turn feed back into the Advisory Board’s work and strengthen the university’s international standing. The foundation for internationalization is laid as early as the undergraduate years: The International Office at UAS Technikum Wien supports students in their international endeavors from the outset, thereby serving as a central interface to the alumni’s global activities.

The meeting further sharpened the university’s international focus. At the same time, the Advisory Board is looking ahead: the next topic will be “The Future of Teaching.”

Preview: On February 18, 2027, an Alumni Talk will take place on the topic “How Secure Is Our Critical Infrastructure?” High-profile alumni and organizations such as ASFINAG, Austro Control, and Frequentis will be represented. Find more information and register here.
