Students translated selected works from the Albertina into their own photographic concepts. A jury awarded prizes for the best reinterpretations at an awards ceremony held at UAS Technikum Wien.

Art as Inspiration for Creative Photos: Hertha Firnberg Schools Photo Contest 2026

As part of the collaboration between UAS Technikum Wien and the Hertha Firnberg Schools, a first-grade photography competition was held again this year. The project began with a joint visit to the Albertina with the students. There, each student selected a work of art that served as a personal source of inspiration.

Impressive photographic works that reinterpret classical artworks

In the subsequent photography class, the students developed their own photographic concepts based on these selections and brought them to life creatively. The result was a series of impressive photographic works that reinterpret classical artworks in their unique ways.

A jury comprising of teachers and students from all grade levels selected three winners, who were awarded prizes. The exhibition of the photographs and the awards ceremony took place on June 1, 2026, at UAS Technikum Wien and provided a fitting setting for the successful collaboration with the Hertha Firnberg Schools.

First Place: Simon Eder – Between Nature and Industry
