26 August, 2026
Practical learning formats and flexible continuing education programs were presented at the event. Federal Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner highlighted the role of universities of applied sciences in the labor market.
Rector Sylvia Geyer gave Federal Minister for Women, Science, and Research Eva-Maria Holzleitner a tour of UAS Technikum Wien yesterday and provided insights into teaching, research, and continuing education.
Afterward, a video interview with Lecturer Fahad Al Rawi was recorded in the eLab of Technikum Wien Academy (the continuing education subsidiary of UAS Technikum Wien)—the fifth episode in a series of interviews for courses in the field of innovation.
The video project, titled “Theory Meets Practice: Learning with Real-World Case Studies and Digital Teaching Tools,” was developed by Al Rawi at UAS Technikum Wien to offer part-time students a flexible, technology-supported way to engage deeply with the practical lecture content.
The role of universities of applied sciences was also discussed during the meeting: “Universities of applied sciences are a key driver of innovative teaching and diverse degree programs, and thus a major source of momentum for the Austrian labor market,” said Federal Minister Holzleitner.
Also in attendance today were Mathias Forjan (Managing Director, Technikum Wien Academy), Rafael Rasinger (Innovation, Scale-up, and Networks, UAS Technikum Wien), Michael Strähle (Research and Development, UAS Technikum Wien), and Christian Novak (Technikum Wien Academy), who conducted the video recording in the eLab.
We thank the Federal Minister for her visit and the valuable exchange.
