From machine learning to a tour of Vienna: Dutch Fontys UAS visited Technikum in Vienna

From January 22 to 24, 2025, we welcomed a delegation from the Dutch Fontys University of Applied Sciences at UAS Technikum Wien. This visit underlines the long-standing and successful cooperation between our universities.

This time, the bachelor students Mazilu Alexandru, Neagoe Denis, Radu Stephanie, Yevtushyk Maksym, Dittmar Valentino and Grossi de Vicq Ferreira da Costa Pedro Henrique, accompanied by the lecturers Jacco Snoeren and Li Li, were present.

Campus and laboratory tour and visit to the “Machine Learning” course

On the first day, the project finalization phases of “EpiQ” (a booking platform for restaurant visits) and “MindEase” (a platform to support mental health and help people find appointments faster), a joint lunch, a campus and laboratory tour with the support of Mathias Forjan, Paolo Trivisonne, and Martin Deinhofer, and a visit to the “Machine Learning” course from the bachelor’s program in Business Informatics.

The second day offered the opportunity for professional exchange on teaching and didactics, followed by further project work and the Innovation Lab presentations of the computer science students from UAS Technikum Wien and a meeting with Philipp Urbauer, who is responsible for the research focus Data-Driven, Smart & Secure Systems. A joint dinner followed by a get-together in the center of Vienna rounded off the day.

City tour “Classic Vienna with a twist”

On the third day, the program included a city tour of “Classic Vienna with a difference” to see the highlights of the city, before the visit ended with a final lunch together in the International Office.
