Shared Paths, Shared Future: Joint action plan of FHTW and Lapland UAS enters into year four

In March 2026, seven staff members from Technikum Wien, including Rector Sylvia Geyer and Managing Director Florian Eckkrammer, traveled north to visit their partners at Lapland UAS. The visit began with a warm welcome, followed by presentations on strategic cooperation and past achievements. The joint action plan, in place since end of 2022, was reviewed, refined, and further developed for the coming year.

In the afternoon, participants joined individual meetings with representatives from various fields, including research and development, student services, wellbeing, safety, and the potential development of a one-stop-shop for student services and and visions for the future of teaching at both institutions. These sessions provided valuable insights into initiatives that foster collaboration between higher education institutions, industry, and start-ups.

The program also included visits to Lapland UAS’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the drone laboratory. The FrostBit Software Lab and the Start-up Hub offered a closer look at ongoing research projects and collaborative innovation activities.

Over the course of the two days, participants exchanged ideas, gained practical insights into the work at Lapland UAS, and explored new opportunities for future cooperation and innovation, contributing to a shared, future-oriented development of both institutions.

Follow-up on previous meetings
