Sylvia Geyer Reappointed as Rector of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien

Sylvia Geyer, rector of UAS Technikum Wien since 2021, was reappointed by the UAS Council this fall for a further four-year term starting in September 2025 – together with the current vice-rector Stefan Sauermann.

“I am delighted that, together with Stefan Sauermann, I have been given the confidence to serve a further term in the rectorate of our university,” says Sylvia Geyer. UAS managing directors Barbara Czak-Pobeheim and Florian Eckkrammer have already welcomed the reappointment in a message to all employees: ”We congratulate both of them on this vote of confidence by the Council and look forward to four more years of good cooperation!”

Prof. Dr. Sylvia Geyer holds a doctorate in business informatics and, in addition to her role as rector, is head of the Computer Science Department. Prof. DI Dr. Stefan Sauermann, an expert in the field of eHealth and telemonitoring with a focus on IT interoperability and standards, is head of the Medical Engineering & eHealth master’s program in addition to his role as vice rector.
