The business IT expert will succeed long-time rector Fritz Schmöllebeck in the fall, and Stefan Sauermann will become vice rector. With Managing Director Gabriele Költringer, there are now two women in the university management.

Sylvia Geyer will become the new rector of UAS Technikum Wien, Stefan Sauermann the new vice rector.  In March, the UAS council thus set the course for the succession of Rector Fritz Schmöllebeck and Vice Rector Christian Kollmitzer, who are completing their last academic year in the rectorate after two formative decades in office.

„It makes me proud to be able to represent UAS Technikum Wien externally and significantly shape it internally as Rector starting in the fall. The complex current situation, including the digitalization push for the entire society, offers particular opportunities for a technical university. The urgent need for skilled workers and the interdisciplinary challenges in today’s labor market will accompany us in the coming years. It is up to us to lead the already existing multifaceted technical education programs into the future and to drive sustainable university development,“.

„I am delighted about the trust of the council and the management and the opportunity to continue my work at the university in this new, formative role. Together with Rector Sylvia Geyer, I will focus on building on the existing strengths of our university and driving forward important developments for the future. In doing so, we want to implement our competencies together with our network partners in the best possible way, for the benefit of the general public, our graduates and for UAS Technikum Wien“.
