“trend” Ranking: One-Third of Austria’s Top 100 Startups Have Ties to Technikum

The best startup of 2026 in the business magazine’s ranking is Storebox, which, like seven other companies, was founded by an FHTW graduate.
The current issue of the business magazine “trend” presents Austria’s best startups. Not only did the logistics company Storebox, co-founded by FHTW graduate Ferdinand Dietrich, make it to number one. A quick LinkedIn analysis shows how closely UAS Technikum Wien remains intertwined with the domestic startup scene:
- Eight top startups were (co-)founded by graduates of UAS Technikum Wien: Storebox, Prewave, Fiskaly, Upnano, Hello Inside, Toolsense, Biome Diagnostics, and Heartbeat.Bio.
- At least 32 of the listed startups employ graduates of the UAS Technikum Wien – that is, just under a third of the top 100.
- A total of 59 Technikum graduates work in the top 100 startups.
