We-Bike: Innovative E-bike Project Launched with Kick-off

09 April, 2025
A Europe-wide research project on the future of urban mobility has started. The University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien is playing a major role in this project with its Sports Engineering, Biomechanics & Ergonomics field of expertise.
The starting signal for the We-Bike project, which is co-financed by the EU as part of Erasmus+, was given on January 30, 2025. The international partners met in Brussels to set the course for the next two and a half years. The aim of the project is to further develop and optimize e-bike mobility in Europe. UAS Technikum Wien is represented by the experts Lena Wurzinger, Savvas Stafylidis, and Markus Eckelt (among others to be seen in the picture).
Research and networking for sustainable mobility
The project covers a range of topics: on the one hand, in-depth research is being conducted into the use of e-bikes in urban areas. In addition, educational opportunities for relevant stakeholders are being developed, safety guidelines are being drafted and recommendations for political decision-makers are being prepared. Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation between public institutions, sports organizations and educational institutions.
Contribution to sustainable urban mobility
With partners from all over Europe, including ANCI Piemonte (Italy), EPSI, FEDAS, Verde Foundation, Orange Sport Forum and Everythink, the We-Bike project will make a decisive contribution to sustainable urban mobility. UAS Technikum Wien is actively contributing its expertise in sports technology, biomechanics and ergonomics.
