Support during the studies

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) offers students a wide range of services throughout their studies, both on site and online.

We are there for the students, from advising them on the first day at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien during the Welcome Days to supporting them with their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis in the academic writing.

Before starting your studies, the Infocenter also provides information about the available Refresher courses and qualification courses (studying without a general qualification for university entrance).

Learning counselling

As part of the learning counselling, students can arrange online counselling appointments where they have the opportunity to reflect on their learning habits together with a member of the Teaching and Learning Center and to receive useful tips. The learning counselling counsellor is there to provide you with the learning support you need. For issues that affect mental and social well-being, psychosocial counselling is also available.

Psychosocial Counselling

Are you constantly facing new crises at university? In this situation, many people find it helpful to talk to a neutral third-party. That is why we provide psychosocial counselling as a crisis intervention. Simply make an appointment to speak with one of our psychologists who are deeply familiar with the usual processes and problems that students may face at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.

This psychosocial counselling ensures that you as a student will have access to various measures for general psychological first aid.

Academic Writing

Glühbirne und Stift

In addition to tips for overcoming large and small hurdles in the writing process, the academic writing offers appointments where students are actively supported in their writing projects. A Moodle course with helpful tips, links, overviews and tools is provided for this purpose. Various appointments (workshops, ask-me-anything rounds, cooperative writing appointments) are also organized through this platform.

Short Tracks

If several students fail the first attempt, the TLC organizes a free Short Track in which students can prepare as a group for the resit. The Short Track takes place in three compact teaching unit blocks (3LV = 2 hours 15 minutes) on specific topics.

Welcome Days

At the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, students are not simply thrown in at the deep end. Even before the students begin their studies, they are officially welcomed to the university during the Welcome Days. The first day follows a set program that provides the students with a general overview of the university.
