BeSt and Open Day: UAS Technikum Wien in Direct Contact with Prospective Students

1,500 contacts at the education fair, 900 visitors at the open house.
UAS Technikum Wien looks back on two highlights from March 2026: Open Day on March 27 and the BeSt Education Fair from March 12 to 15. Both events offered numerous opportunities to present academic programs and practice-oriented education to a wide audience.
Open Day 2026: Record Attendance and Diverse Insights
With over 900 visitors, the Open Day in March 2026 was a resounding success. Prospective students took the opportunity to learn all about the programs offered by UAS Technikum Wien and to experience the campus firsthand.
A central highlight was the 23 project exhibitions—a new record—which showcased current work from teaching and research.
The program was complemented by:
- exciting lab tours that provided practical insights into technical applications
- three sample lectures that brought the study program to life
- two campus tours that gave a tangible sense of everyday student life
The shuttle buses to the Energy Base also offered a special attraction. There, visitors could learn about innovative solutions in the fields of energy and building technology—a central focus of the university.
The event’s success is largely due to the commitment of those involved: Around 160 students and staff members contributed significantly to the positive atmosphere and smooth operation with their professional expertise and personal guidance.
BeSt Vienna Fair: 1,500 contacts made
In mid-March, UAS Technikum Wien presented itself at BeSt 2026 with a fundamentally new booth concept that had a lot to offer both visually and in terms of content.
An open, modern environment was created across approximately 70 m², specifically designed to encourage interaction.
The focal points were:
- four interactive touchscreens, through which visitors could explore the range of study programs individually
- spacious seating areas, which facilitated personal conversations in a relaxed atmosphere
- a deliberately low-barrier, open spatial concept that made access easier
Four large LED screens above the booth ensured high visibility, drawing attention even from a distance. BeSt 2026 recorded a total of over 55,000 visitors and 309 exhibitors. UAS Technikum Wien was able to make around 1,500 contacts during the fair.
On-site, 25 students as well as staff from Marketing & Communications and the Infocenter were available for consultations. Their dedication played a key role in ensuring that the new booth concept was not only visually appealing but also successfully implemented in terms of content.
Strong presence and personal interaction
Both the Open Day and participation in BeSt demonstrate the central importance of personal interactions in academic orientation. Through innovative formats, practical insights, and dedicated counseling, UAS Technikum Wien was able to reach numerous prospective students and make a lasting impression.
