Art and technology came together in practical projects and perspectives. Collaborations are planned between VŠMU and the Master’s program in Creative and Human-Centered Technology at UAS Technikum Wien, set to begin in the fall of 2026.

Alexander Nimmervoll and Benedikt Salzbrunn attended the International VFX and GD Conference Bratislava (IVGC) on April 16, 2026, at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava. The conference was organized by the Department of Visual Effects and Game Design at the Film and Television Faculty and featured numerous presentations by international students as well as professionals from Bratislava. Special thanks go to Department Head Ľudovít Labík for the invitation to the conference.

Particularly impressive was the enormous range of projects as well as the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives among the participating students. While UAS Technikum Wien is strongly rooted in the fields of engineering and applied technology, it was inspiring to see how students from renowned European art and film schools approach game design and visual effects from an artistic, dramatic, and narrative perspective. This approach complements the technical focus of UAS Technikum Wien.

A Combination Of Technical Implementation And Creative, Human-centered Design

It is exactly this combination of precise technical implementation and creative, diverse, and human-centered design that forms the core philosophy of the new master’s program Creative and Human-Centered Technology, which will be launched for the first time in September 2026.

During the conference, discussions also took place regarding a potential collaboration at the master’s level—specifically between the Game Design department at VŠMU and the new master’s program in Creative and Human-Centered Technology at UAS Technikum Wien. The goal is to implement the first joint projects with students from both institutions as early as fall 2026.
