Science Meets Business: UAS Technikum Wien Connects with GreenTec Campus Stockerau and Regional Industry

The partnership between the Master’s degree program Environmental Management & Ecotoxicology at UAS Technikum Wien and the GreenTec Campus Stockerau was further strengthened during their second meeting under the motto “Science Meets Business.”
On October 6, 2025, program directors Martina Ortbauer (Master’s in Environmental Management & Ecotoxicology) and Romana Hornek-Gausterer (Bachelor’s in Sustainable Environmental and Bioprocess Engineering), Department Head Barbara Gepp (Life Science Engineering), and students met with representatives of the GreenTec Campus at the Raiffeisensaal Stockerau to present and discuss joint projects between local companies and FH Technikum Wien.
The networking event was well attended, featuring Member of Parliament Andreas Minnich, Mayor Andrea Völkl and Vice Mayor Heinz Scheele of the City of Stockerau, Christian Moser, Vice President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and Ursula Paul and Johann Schreiber from the Raiffeisenbank Stockerau management. Company representatives from TerraWaste, Windkraft Simonsfeld, K+K Beton, and Harmer Energie GmbH also participated.
“Collaboration in research and practice is highly valuable both for our students and for the companies,” said Martina Ortbauer. Additional industry partners are expected to join soon.
Two Master’s Theses Emerged from Long-Term Collaboration
The long-standing cooperation with Andreas Klinger, Secretary General of GreenTec Campus, and Anton Purgstaller from TerraWaste led to two master’s theses. Students Isabel Zetina and Henry Windorf (Master’s program in Environmental Management & Ecotoxicology) presented their work on plastic recycling for the company TerraWaste.

The event concluded with a panel discussion on the theme “Science Meets Business.”
