Students from the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Hydrogen Engineering Visited the “Future Energy” Exhibition on the MS Wissenschaft at Vienna’s Handelskai

The exhibition at Vienna’s Handelskai showcased the latest technologies in renewable energies and green hydrogen. Students gained practical insights into research, innovation, and social developments.
At the end of September, numerous students from the Bachelor’s program in Hydrogen Engineering (dual) at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien took the opportunity to experience the latest developments in the field of renewable energies up close. Together with Gerhard Fritscher, Christoph Steindl (lecturer and researcher), and program director Peter Muckenhuber, they visited the interactive exhibition “Future Energy” on the floating science center MS Wissenschaft, which stopped at Vienna’s Handelskai.
Innovative technologies and research results related to renewable energies
The exhibition focused on innovative technologies and research results related to renewable energies, with a special emphasis on green hydrogen as an energy source of the future. The students were able to get hands-on experience with around 30 exhibits, learn about current research projects, and discuss future scenarios for a climate-neutral energy supply.
A highlight was the chance encounter with Federal Minister Eva Maria Holzleitner, who also visited the exhibition. The Federal Minister for Women, Science, and Research showed great scientific interest in the topic of green hydrogen and emphasized the importance of such formats for young people and society in an Instagram post.
The visit to the MS Wissenschaft offered students a vivid insight into the social relevance and innovation potential of hydrogen technologies – and underlined the close connection between research, teaching, and current science communication at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.
