At the cross-university event held by the Center for Technology & Society and the Vienna Chamber of Labour, two students were awarded prizes, with Rector Sylvia Geyer as part of the jury.

UAS Technikum Wien was well represented at the Tech Design Sprint in September, organized by the Center for Technology & Society (CTS) and the Vienna Chamber of Labour (AK Wien). The event, themed “Applying Responsible Technologies in New Work”, brought together students from various Viennese universities to develop creative solutions for technical and social challenges in the modern world of work. Sylvia Geyer, rector of UAS Technikum Wien, was part of the jury.

Relevance and excellence

Students at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien have achieved impressive successes: Alaa Nakshbandi, a Bachelor Computer Science student, received an award in the category of social relevance. Together with his team, she developed an AI-supported tool for creating CVs that not only takes data protection and user needs into account, but also promotes inclusion and diversity. Mateja Juricevic, a bachelor’s student in Business Informatics, received the Technical Excellence Award for her involvement in the development of an AI application to optimize the creation of duty rosters.

Four universities

The CTS is an inter-university and inter-faculty cooperation platform consisting of the TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), the FH Campus Wien, the FH Technikum Wien and the University of Vienna. It promotes cooperation, innovation and interdisciplinary research, among other things, through participatory approaches and critical thinking.
