Vienna Calling! UAS Technikum Wien Welcomes Incoming Students of the Summer Semester 2026

With the start of the summer semester 2026, UAS Technikum Wien is buzzing with international flair as we welcome 67 new Incoming students from around the globe, including Argentina, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain and many more!  Together with fellow exchange students who already began their journey in Vienna during the winter semester, they kicked off their adventure at the beginning of February.

At the same time, 72 students have packed their bags to spend a semester studying or completing a traineeship abroad. This semester’s most popular destinations? Germany, South Korea and the US, proof that the world truly is our campus!

Varied Orientation Week

To ensure a fantastic start in Vienna and at UAS Technikum Wien, the International Office hosts a dynamic Orientation Week designed to help Incoming students settle in smoothly. Beyond essential information about studying at UASTW, participants gain valuable insights into everyday life in Vienna, from navigating the city to embracing Austrian culture.

Full of curiosity and excitement, the students dive into lively discussions about Austrian traditions, student life and what it means to live in the country’s vibrant capital. Workshops on local customs and intercultural competence set the stage for meaningful cross-cultural exchange. A definite highlight of the week is the guided city tour through Vienna by Eugene Quinn, where students explore the streets, sights and stories of the city that will be their home for the next few months.

Support doesn’t stop there. Each Incoming student is paired with a dedicated buddy, a local Technikum student who offers guidance and friendly advice during those crucial first weeks. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) also plays a key role, organizing social events such as an international dinner that brings flavors and friendships from all over the world to one table.

Programs bring international encounters to life

These initiatives make intercultural exchange come alive, not only for our international guests, but also for our local students, who gain new perspectives and connections in an increasingly globalized world.

And here’s an extra incentive: Getting involved as a buddy or through ESN isn’t just personally enriching, it’s academically rewarding, too! Active participation as a buddy and/or within the Erasmus Student Network for at least one semester earns 2 ECTS credits for the internationalization module (BA), in accordance with the respective degree programme.
