Industrial Applications, Energy, Future Mobility

Electronics in industrial applications, the electricity industry and e-mobility are the focal points of the Power Electronics & Sustainable Energy Technology major. After basic training in electronics, students deepen their knowledge in these areas.

Electronics is a basic technology that is used everywhere today. In the first four semesters, students learn the basics of electronics and electrical engineering, supplemented by natural sciences, economics and personality-building courses:

  • Start of semester: beginning of September
  • Costs per semester: € 363.36 tuition fee, € 21.20 ÖH fee; € 3,000 Tuition fee for students from third countries: exceptions and information
  • Attendance times: Optionally Monday to Friday during the day (full-time) or Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday morning (part-time)
  • Work placement in the 5th and 6th semester
  • one Bachelor Thesis
  • 180 ECTS credits
  • Possibility for a semester abroad

This branch of study is part of the further developed bachelor’s program in electronics, which will start in the academic year 2022/23.

Career

Graduates of the Power Electronics & Sustainable Energy Technology major in Electronics are excellently trained for professional fields such as industrial electronics, drive technology, high-voltage technology or energy technology. They work, for example, in electronics development, measurement and control technology, circuit board design, power engineering, mechatronics and electrical engineering, as application or production engineers and can lead technical project teams.

Requirements

For a bachelor’s degree program at UAS Technikum Wien, you should have a certain technical interest and have completed the school-leaving examination. A relevant professional qualification is also considered to fulfill the admission requirements.
