Dr. Matthias Scherer, MSc is a research specialist in the field of rehabilitation engineering, with a focus on motion analysis, prosthetics and biomechanics. He works as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, functions as principal laboratory engineer of the Motion Analysis Lab for Sports and Healthcare and belongs to the task force for “New media and early career” of the Austrian Society for Biomedical Engineering. He completed his PhD at the Medical University of Vienna on the topic of heart rate variability in athletes (Thesis title: ”Studies on suitability of non-invasive heart rate variability recording for assessment of physical performance and training monitoring”).
